Keeping afloat

As in the title - life is a tad full on atm and you could say that I am just 'keeping afloat' with all my commitments. Time to post has been limited so I decided to post an image of one of my earlier assemblages. Exhibited in a competition this piece was Highly Commended.

Consisting of clay and rusted found objects, long sharp barbs protude - a sense of balancing pleasure and pain...

  1. this is SUPER COOL!!! at first i thought it was hanging off of something and it was pretty cool that way ... then i realized that it's balancing on it's own ... now that's SUPER COOL in capital letters!! and i like the idea behind balancing pleasure and pain ;)

  2. Love it Kim, but a little S & M. No really, it has amazing lightness for such a 'solid' and grounded piece.

  3. K- I have seen this piece before - but good to see it again - it is a really challenging work - very spiky and sends off a dangerous vibe. We are in tune with the over committed feeling at the moment. B

  4. Life is busy and its hard to keep up at the moment...this piece reminds me of the precarious nature of us all balancing our lives. Stay well and don't go too crazy!
