Papillon, solo exhibition

It gives me great pleasure to extend this warm invitation to my next solo exhibition Papillon held at the Caloundra Regional Gallery. The Official Opening is on Friday 27 May, 2016 at 6pm - anyone wishing to join the celebration, please rsvp the gallery to assist with catering J

Papillon opens to the public on Wednesday 25 May and continues until Sunday 3rd July, 2016. Also exhibiting at the Gallery will be Karen Richard's stunning installation Flora non Evidens, which I am really looking forward to seeing.

It's been intense working on my exhibition over the last four months, creating a little over 5000 used tea bag butterflies. Papillon consists of two major installations, In the Light of Truth (detail image below) a specimen wall where 3000 butterflies printed with abstract imagery will be pinned in grid formation over three gallery walls, and In Flight a sea of 2000 butterflies suspended from the ceiling of gallery foyer creating a kinetic sculpture. It is starting to get very exciting with install only two weeks away!
