Celebration!

I would love to share with you... for those that couldn't make the evening, a few photographs from last night's Artist by Artist opening. It was such a wonderful night to let our hair down, relax, and mingle. To bring together a night of celebration is like icing on the cake - all our hard work over the past few months in making the films and to share with our family, friends and community makes it much more special.

A random group shot - Artist by Artists' from left; Lin Martin, Cindy Wider, Natalija Brunovs (our Producer), Greg Windsor and me (Kim Schoenberger).

The crowd gathered quickly...

A few familiar faces in the crowd.

More people...

And after the screening each artist was called onto the stage for a supprise certificate presentation with a Q & A from the audience.

From left; Cindy Wider, Carol 'Karuna' Tohow, Evangeline Cachinero, Greg Windsor, Pin Martin, Me and Natalija Brunovs (former ABC Open Sunshine Coast producer), Tim McGee (Regional Service Development Coordinator - QAC), and Soula Middleton (ABC Open Gold Coast producer). Unfortunately a four artists had other commitments and couldn't be present (absentee artists; Janna Pameijer, Christine Elcoate, Pat Flynn and Peter Carnavas).

And to finish on a personal note:

I would like to say a BIG thank you - to my delight, I was presented with a bunch of bright happy flowers for my help in organising the event - but I gotta say, everyone's help made the evening a huge success...

my video on Pat Flynn

YAY! My ABC Open Artist by Artist video on my artist partner Pat flynn has been officially launched on the ABC Open website.

Here's my creative take on Pat's story, once again tho' I cannot take full credit for this fab video, because if it wasn't for Pat and Natalija's help and patience it wouldn't have come together as good as it did! I gotta say I once I got into the swing of making the props there was no looking back. Please ENJOY...

A bit of trivia, to quote direct from the ABC Open website on the Artist by Artist project...

"To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Queensland Arts Council, ABC Open and QAC brought together a group of Queensland based artists to produce a series of videos about their lives and their work.

Artist by Artist invited artists to work collaboratively to tell each other's stories. Over several months, these distinctly different artists worked together to produce video stories which captured the creative forces that drove their fellow artists.

The results are beautifully told short pieces to inspire us all and to celebrate the creativity of southern Queensland"

We were asked to be a guest blogger for the ABC Open blog and describe our journey in the Artist by Artist project, you can read mine by clicking here

(click this link to read Natalija's post)

Well there's no rest for the wicked, with the Medieval Festival behind me it's straight back to work!!!! Artist by Artist deadline is fast approaching, and it was time to put the 3D props into action. A sneak peak...

Me pulling the rope with Natalija filming.

A behind the scene's shot Natalija getting my cardboard London double decker bus in focus (and me casting the shadow). I gotta say, yesterday was the most hilarious day I'd had in a long time!

Artist by Artist - update

This week has been like totally......full-on! And all about filming - Firstly, it was Pat in front of the camera at Voices on the Coast held at the University. Pat Flynn was one of a few select guest author's to speak to over one hundred or more lively bunch of school kids in each session. It was like a massive bookfest, how lucky to be given such a fab opportunity, I don't recall having anything of this nature when I was at school!

Some of Pat Flynn's books to purchase for signing.

A young trouper waiting in line to get his book signed...with me right behind waiting in line for my autograph :-)

Pat getting RSI from signing.

Then it was my turn infront of the camera, and what a freeeeeeeeeeezing cold day to be filming! I reckon it had to have been the coldest day we've had yet. It was blankets all round and plenty of hot cups of tea.

Pictured from left Christine Elcoate (on sound recorder), Natalija (producer) and Pat Flynn

Taking some shots - trying to get some tea out of my teapot, it just wasn't happening!

ABC Open - partners revealed

I'm excited to announce that I have been selected among nine other (extremely talented) artists to partake in an ABC Open - Artist by Artist project. ABC Open has paired together artists to make documentaries on each other.

Such a wonderful opportunity, and a great bunch of extremely talented artists involved. I am really looking forward to it.
