  1. What a beautiful video.
One gets a little glimpse of how you connect with your art.

    Thanks for sharing

  2. Kim, I loved watching this video (and hearing your voice)and getting to know you a little better. I spent an hour at the scrap yard on Wednesday and another on Friday. Women are not welcome there (well I'm always the only one)so seeing you hanging over the dumpster makes me feel less weird. One thing I have noticed is I have far more fun than the men scrounging at our scrap yards! I found some amazing "pedestals" that would make you drool. When I got them home I decided I would have to go back for the rest...... as well as an old tin full of cowbells.

  3. Lovely video Kim... am forwarding the link to some other mates. Great to see you AND Max among your beloved 'rusty bits'. Watch out you don't go headfirst into that container!!!

PS:... nice shot of the bum.

  4. Thanks Marilena, it was a pleasure to have had Pat as my artist partner, he knew all the right questions to ask.
Hi Robyn, It is amazing I hadn't given much thought to my voice, I remember when I first heard an audio of W.W.Dyer and thought the same thing! WOW, I'd love to see the pedestals (& cow bells) you found at the scrap yard & I totally understand you going back for the rest. Normally I'm literally INSIDE the dumpster (I was holding back for the video :) Yer, that's not wierd at all - and yep I get strange looks for being female and I definitely have loads of fun!!!
Hi Jo, I hope your mates enjoy the video. I got a bit choked up when I saw Maxy - a time capsule for when he's gone :( I did almost loose balance that day on the edge, and I actually did type the title 'butt cam' for this post then changed it :-D

  5. Wonderful video Kim, I feel more acquainted with you now that I've heard your voice. Beautiful work! -I was holding my breath a little hoping you wouldn't fall in - HA!

  6. K- great video, great creations and from the comments it is good to see the growing number of scavengers and tipsters. F and I have spent a few days away from the mountain and have returned with a heap of stuff for creative purposes. F humours and helps me in getting the best out of tips etc - she focusses on what I'm into at the moment and hunts for 'good stuff'. I think we might need to hold a good-stuff convention sometime. Go well. B

  7. Thanks Jane, it was a bit of a balancing act on the edge. Maybe we should have staged a fall-in, now that would have been a laugh!
B - sounds like a grand idea (good-stuff convention) I'll be in that, maybe we should do a scavenger hunt crawl one day with a trailer ofcourse. K

  12. Hi Cynthia and Luthien, thanks for you kind words. Through my adversity my hope was to help or inspire others by telling my story. Since the release, I have had many emails from people saying they have been inspired by my story and wish to persue their dreams. I couldn't have wished for more...

  13. Kim your art is so beautiful. What a blessing to understand the story behind it. I found your blog through Robyn's and I'm so glad I did. You might enjoy a little slide show on the side bar of my blog called remnants...it is a series of collages I made from the discarded scraps of paper my students left on the floor when I was still teaching art classes.

  14. Here via Robyn's blog...glad to 'meet' you!
Your work and 'dump scrumping'( what we called gathering good stuff when we were kids) are an inspiration. Thankyou.

Hello herhimnbryn, nice to meet you too! I love your analogy 'dump scrumping' I visited your blog(s) also I love your mosaic works. I watched the you-tube video on Rosalie - so very refreshing!!! I needed to see that, thanks for posting it on there!! She has been my inspiration to continue with my (left of centre) assemblages. I must post it on my blog as a gentle reminder to myself.
