I've been silently working away at a few assemblages the last month for an exhibition coming up in October at Rosebed Street Gallery. The concept behind this exhbition is to showcase small artworks from a selective of artists. With six to eight pieces from each artist, the artworks will be displayed over a period of 26th October, 2011 to 8th January, 2012.
Here are a few pieces I have made so far, I anticipate to have seven artworks in total...

"Solidarity"
"Dancer II"
Rosebed Street Gallery is also holding an on-line Tsunami Fundraiser Art Auction (click this link to view artworks up for auction). The auction will be held on ebay for a two day auction over 22nd and 23rd October, 2011. Artworks have been generously donated by local and not-so-local artists. My donation comprises a set of three RAKU fired pots.
You are so creative in the way you combine the metal pieces. Despite the heaviness of metal, you manage to give elegance to your creations.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to view the rest of them.

These pieses are beautiful and very poetic. I love the unicorne!
ReplyDeleteLove your work Kim. We'll be co-exhibitors... I have some small paintings in.
ReplyDeleteK- great pieces - should be good to have a group of your pioeces in the exhibition. B
ReplyDeleteHi Marilena, thank you, it is a fine line when it comes to assembling, I do need to allow space inbetween for it to happen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, yes the Unicorn is my favourite as well. I had that piece of steel (body) for ages, it wasn't until I turned it upside down I realise what it was meant to be!
Yay Jo! That's wonderful. Will look forward in seeing you at the opening.
B - thanks, they are coming together well. Semi-curating my choices. K
